The World Basketball Championship in Turkey kicks off on laSexta
All the warm-up games of the Spanish national side also covered

laSexta, the channel for basketball, which since its launch has broadcast one world cup and two European championships is warming up for the World Cup to be held in Turkey this year with the broadcast of all the Spanish national team’s preparatory matches from 1st August to 22nd August before the championship proper kicks off.

The World and European champions and Olympic silver medalists are currently preparing for this year’s challenge and the objective of a repeat victory to follow on from their win four years ago in Japan with nine games over the course of August and which will see them take on some of the world’s best teams such as the USA and Lithuania.

Navarro, Calderón, Marc Gasol, Ricky Rubio, Rudy Fernández and Garbajosa are just some of the stars of the Spanish team who will be featuring heavily this summer on laSexta in the warm-up games before the start of the World Cup in Turkey which will see all the matches featuring the Spanish team broadcast on laSexta.

laSexta has prepared an impressive deployment for its coverage of the Gira Eñemanía 2010. The channel will premiere a new master of ceremonies this time around, the channel’s number 2 in the sports department, Mel Otero, a specialist in basketball who has covered the 2006 World Cup in Japan, and the European Championships in Madrid and Poland among other big sporting events.
