laSexta rolls out a “Rocky” summer special with the broadcast of all the films in the series of cinema’s most famous boxer
The 6 films starring Sylvester Stallone have become a movie classic

Rocky Balboa, the most famous boxer in the history of the cinema is on this summer on laSexta with all 6 films of the series being shown, the films that launched actor Sylvester Stallone’s career starting with the first film in the series, “Rocky”.

Cinema-lovers and boxing fans will be able to sit back and enjoy the very best action this summer on laSexta with the ”Rocky” series of films who from the mean streets of Philidelphia rose to become the heavyweight champion of the world through sheer effort and hard work.

Three Oscars for Best Film, Best Director (John G. Avildsen) and Best Editing (Richard Halsey and Scott Conrad) turned “Rocky”, in 1976, into a reference for action cinema which continued right up to the release of the 6th film in the series, Rocky Balboa.

laSexta will broadcast the first film of the series “Rocky”, at 22.15 on Monday, a story of hope which won 3 Oscars (Best Film, Best Director and Best Editing) and the Golden Globe for Best Drama in 1976. The film, directed by G. Avildsen and written by and starring Sylvester Stallone made the actor a Hollywood star. From the premiere of the first film of the series “Rocky”, the character became an icon for the American dream, overcoming all the odds and his hope in the face of adversity influenced a whole generation of cinema-goers to the extent that numerous scenes from the series and the title track “The eye of the Tiger”, have been copied and eulogized in dozens of other films reflecting the influence the films have had in the last 30 years.

After the “Rocky” series laSexta will broadcast “Robocop”
After the “Rocky” series, laSexta will show “Robocop”, a trilogy of science-fiction based films which was a milestone in the action film genre and which tells the story of a robot cop who fights to preserve his human past. The first film of the series, directed by Paul Verhoeven (“Basic Instinct”) in 1987 and nominated for two Oscars for best editing and best sound, stars actor Peter Weller (“Partners”), who also featured in the second film of the series, directed by Irvin Kershner in 1990. “Robocop 3” was filmed in 1993 with Fred Dekker directing (“Night of the Creeps”) with Robert Burke in the lead role (“Gossip Girl”).
