Woody Allen starts filming of “Midnight in Paris”, the third MEDIAPRO produced movie by the North-American film-maker
It stars Kathy Bates, Adrien Brody, Carla Bruni, Marion Cotillard, Rachel McAdams, Michael Sheen and Owen Wilson

Woody Allen has started the filming of his latest movie “Midnight in Paris”, the third MEDIAPRO produced film in conjunction with the North-American film-maker and following on from the success of “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” and “You’ll meet a tall, dark stranger”, presented internationally at the Cannes Film Festival and which goes on general release world-wide from 27th August. Allen and his team have been in Paris for just over a week filming the first scenes of his latest movie project. Historically the North-American film-maker has shot one film a year, and if possible in the summer months. The films produced by MEDIAPRO have been shot in Barcelona (2007) and in London (2009).

This is the first time that Woody Allen will shoot one of his films entirely in Paris. Emblematic places in the French capital such as the Champs Elysées, Notre Damme, the Moulin Rouge, Maxim’s or the Rodin Museum, together with the palace at Versailles are just some of the sites chosen by the American film-maker. The film will also capture a feeling for what life in Paris is like with street scenes and shots of its famous cafés and bistros.

Although Woody Allen’s films aren’t usually named until the editing phase, this time around Allen has made an exception. “Midnight in Paris” takes place entirely in the French capital, with an estimated 7 weeks of filming scheduled. The latest Woody Allen film, number 41 of his career, stars: Kathy Bates, Adrien Brody, Carla Bruni, Marion Cotillard, Rachel McAdams, Michael Sheen and Owen Wilson. Other actors also include: Nina Arianda, Kurt Fuller, Tom Hiddleston, Mimi Kennedy, Alison Pill and Corey Stoll.

The latest Woody Allen film is a romantic comedy that follows a family travelling to the city for business. The party includes a young engaged couple that has their lives transformed throughout the journey. The film celebrates a young man’s great love for Paris, and simultaneously explores the illusion people have that a life different from their own is better.
