Sala 1 in the Club Capitol Barcelona Theatre which, for so many years played host to the stand-up’s performances was chosen as the perfect venue to pay tribute to Pepe Rubianes on the anniversary of his death.
The programme “El matí de Catalunya Ràdio” broadcast a special live show from the theatre with his friends and colleagues remembering his passing and announced that the Balañá Group has taken the decision to rename the theatre the “Sala Pepe Rubianes”. The programme featured a round-table discussion with: Xavier Sardà, Albert Om, Xavier Grasset and Jaume Roures. Many of his friends were also present wishing to pay tribute to the comic, one year after his death: Andreu Buenafuente, Carles Flavià, Toni Soler, Joan Gràcia, Joan Lluís Bozzo and many others.
TV3 also broadcast a special programme “Divendres” to commemorate the death of Rubianes with appearances from Andreu Buenafuente and Albert Om.
